Midday Assistant

The Trustees at Victorious Academies Trust would like to appoint a Midday Assistant at Discovery Academy, Porlock Avenue, Hattersley, SK14 3LE

To start: June 2024
Midday Assistant full-time salary £22,366
This is a permanent, part-time role, 6.25 hours a week, Term Time Only with an actual salary of £3,323 (TMBC Grade A, Points 2)
The role will be for 1 hour 15 minutes per day, Monday to Friday.

Our Trust’s vision is to support young people to develop the aspiration, motivation and to be successful; we have high ambitions for all young people in our academies and all roles at our Academy are central to ensuring that we work to support this.

The Local Governing Board of Discovery Academy wish to appoint a willing, enthusiastic and caring Midday Assistant to supervise, help and play with pupils during the lunchtime break in the playground and dining areas of the Academy.

Midday Assistants assist pupils during the lunch break, working as part of a team.

• To ensure that the lunch session is controlled and pupils are managed in terms of
behaviour and safety.
• To look after the welfare of the pupils in connection with hygiene, table manners,
general behaviour and assist any children with eating difficulties.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
• Deal with hazards to prevent accidents.
• Supervise the safety of children at all times.
• Make senior leaders aware of any issues or accidents to ensure that the children are
managed in a safe environment at all times.
• Supervise the children at play after they have left the dining hall and organise games
for younger children.
• Administer First Aid if necessary (training provided)
• Attend any training, which the Principal may consider appropriate to the role.
• Carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Principal relating to the
supervision of children.
