In your role as the Principal Estates Surveyor within the Technical Services Department, you will play a key part in the service, ensuring the Councils’ property portfolios are future-proofed, opportunities are achieved to increase income and the estates are effectively managed to deliver the Councils’ ambitions. You will be able to negotiate in the Councils’ best interests and provide sound valuation advice.
Fylde Council oversees a varied property portfolio and a range of community spaces including 10km of coastal and estuarine hard and soft sea defences, associated tourist attractions, footpaths and rights of way, award winning public gardens and parks, car parks, corporate buildings and depots.
Ideally you will be qualified to MRICS and be able to demonstrate property management experience and have a good knowledge of relevant legislation.
You will need a flexible and commercial approach to work and problem solving and have excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. You will be able to confidently communicate at all levels including at member and senior management level as well as to community groups and local residents.
What you'll need to succeed
Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
A relevant degree in Estate Management or equivalent
Proven experience of working within Property Asset Management
Previous experience of working within Local Government is desirable
