This role sits within our Integrated Front Door Team, which in other Local Authorities is referred to as the MASH. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and the skills of others within our team.

This is none case holding, office-based role whereby you will be working collaboratively with all partner agencies within the Integrated Front Door including the Police, Health, Missing from Home Coordinator, Early Help Access Point Workers, Independent Domestic Violence Advocates, Children with Disabilities Duty and Safeguarding in Education Leads.

Whilst the role is none case holding, you will still be afforded the opportunity to have daily interactions with partner agencies outside of the Integrated Front Door and with families and members of the public.

This is a fast paced and exciting role whereby you will be screening, triaging and make threshold decisions relating to all new referrals to the Integrated Front Door. You will also be relied upon to provide your expert knowledge to professionals and families and contribute to strategy meetings and Section 47 (Child Protection) enquiries.

In 2023 we retained our overall GOOD grading from Ofsted in our ILACS.

As set out in our Bolton 2030 vision, our aim is to support people to Start Well, Live Well and Age Well and we are passionate about keeping children and young people at the heart of the work we do. We want to make sure all our children and young people have the best possible start in life, so they have every chance to succeed and be happy.

Following our recent Ofsted inspection, which confirmed how great our staff and our services are, Ofsted said:

‘Social workers are well supported and say they feel valued.’

‘Social workers describe a culture of regular and reflective supervision.’

Bolton is a fantastic place to work, and our employees thrive working here. We are incredibly proud of our Bolton Family, of which you will become an integral part.

If this sounds like an opportunity you’d like to know more about, we’d love to hear from you. For an informal chat, please contact our Team Managers,

You will have good knowledge and experience in safeguarding children, as well as being able to make timely and safe threshold decisions regarding children in need and children who need protecting and understand the current changes within children’s social work.

You will act as a champion for service development and improvement within the department of Children’s Social Care and Early Help, role modelling Research in Practice and undertaking high quality social work practice at the front door.
