Job Title: Personal Adviser (Connexions)

Grade: G £32,076 to £35.745 per annum (£16.62-£28.52 per hour)

Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 12 months

The Role

Connexions Bolton is looking to recruit a Personal Adviser to cover a 12 month maternity leave. You will be part of a busy team supporting to help raise aspiration and inspire our young people in Bolton.

You will provide impartial Information, Advice and Careers Guidance to young people aged 15 – 19 years (up to 24yrs with SEND or Care Experienced) in schools and community settings. You also will support the delivery of Bolton Council’s statutory duty to reduce the number of young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), or ‘Not Known’ and promote participation in learning as well as contributing to our UKSPF programme ‘Next Generation Bolton’ - supporting young people who are NEET or at Risk of becoming NEET with the resilience to address their barriers to learning and reach their potential to gain and sustain Education, Employment or Training opportunities.

You will develop strong relationships with employers, education and training providers in order to ensure high quality standards and sufficiency of local provision.

About You

Do you want to make a difference to young people? Do you hold a professional Careers Guidance qualification at a minimum of Level 4 and have experience working with vulnerable young people in a school or community setting? If you have a positive attitude and understand the barriers that can affect young people accessing education, employment, and training we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a person with a solution focused attitude who can build rapport, working one to one and in group settings offering impartial information, advice and careers guidance to help young people achieve their potential.

You must demonstrate the ability to engage and build relationships with schools, post-16 providers, partner agencies and employers. Experience working on projects to support NEET and at Risk of NEET young people would be desirable but is not essential. You will be required to travel around the borough to meet with young people.

You will work as part of a supportive well-established team, managing your own caseload and working independently to achieve service goals and outcomes.
