This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the Senior Management Team at Rochdale Town Hall, which is set to become one of the largest visitor attractions in Greater Manchester.

Rochdale Town Hall is a building of the highest level of national importance. Its Grade 1 listing places it in the top 2.5% of buildings nationally. It was described by the authoritative architectural historian Pevsner “as one of the dozen most ambitious High Victorian town halls of England…of rare picturesque beauty, boasting splendid interior schemes”.

Following 4 years of extensive restoration, Rochdale Town Hall has been transformed. It now boasts nationally significant historical rooms, a new restaurant, new learning and community spaces and a fully pedestrianised Town Hall Square.

Since its opening in early March 2024, Rochdale Town Hall has welcomed over 13,000 visitors.

The restoration of this historic building is a significant project for the borough of Rochdale and has received substantial investment from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Finance & Administration Manager will develop, maintain and oversee all financial policies and processes related to the operations of Rochdale Town Hall and Town Hall Square, managing income and expenditure across all main business functions: restaurant and events/functions, community engagement & learning, building management, marketing and conservation.

The role will support the commercial objectives of the town hall by monitoring the cash flows of business operation and delivering regular forecasts and reports to ensure both income and expenditure are managed within the agreed budgets and delivering operational surpluses.

The Finance & Administration Manager is a new role and therefore the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help to shape some of the key focusses of the post and really make it their own.

The Finance & Administration Manager is a key member of Rochdale Town Hall’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will lead on all financial reporting for all areas of the town hall’s business, as stated in the current Business Plan 2024-2029. The post will also lead on the creation of all financial and progress reports to our external funders.

Rochdale Town Hall will be an anchor attraction of significant importance to our developing cultural district and delivery of our visitor economy strategy. As such, the Finance & Administration Manager will work across a variety of departments including Rochdale Borough Council Finance teams and Rochdale Development Agency.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and passionate, with a proven track record in finance, ideally with knowledge and experience of working in cultural and commercial venues. Experience of working across multi-functional teams, and the ability to produce and present financial and written reports in a clear and accurate manner, is an essential.
