You will be a passionate social work practitioner, proud of your profession and able to reflect and think creatively about how you respond at pace to urgent social work intervention to ensure children, families and adults are safe and achieve the best outcomes. About Us

Stockport Family has recently received it’s Ofsted inspection (2022) and has been found to be ‘Good’ in all areas. Ofsted said about Stockport:

“Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council continues to provide good services for children in need of help and protection and children in care and care leavers. The strong quality of practice and services for families has been maintained, despite the high levels of COVID-19 and an increase in demand across the service. There continues to be a strong early help offer and an increased focus on prevention, early intervention and mental health support for the most vulnerable children and families during the pandemic. Children in care and care leavers receive very effective support that meets their needs.”

Ofsted found a high standard of practice, a culture of learning, a commitment to innovation and strong multi-agency relationships within our well-established integrated model of Stockport Family.

What do social workers say about working in Stockport?

If you miss direct work with children, life story work, systemic genograms, family network meetings, reflective practice, relationships, this is the place for you. The term ‘restorative practice’ genuinely means something here and everyone from front line workers to senior management care about keeping families together and management care about their staff”.
